Rental of large chalets for 14 to 15 people in Font‐Romeu

Over the years, our family has built several large authentic wooden chalets in peaceful villages near Font‐Romeu.

We have specially designed five of them to accommodate groups of 14 to 15 people. Each chalet has five or six bedrooms, bathrooms and spacious living areas, including one or more lounges. We even thought about the sauna, sunny terraces, and accessibility for people with reduced mobility !

Four of these chalets are grouped in Saint‐Pierre‐dels‐Forcats, near the ski slopes of Espace Cambre d’Aze. The fifth is located in Bolquère, close to the ski lifts of the Pyrénées 2000 ski resort. With Les Angles, these are therefore three ski areas accessible in less than 20 minutes from the chalets.

Vast expanses, snow‐capped peaks, sports activities, and countless hikes await you in this preserved territory, in the heart of the Pyrénées‐Orientales mountains, benefiting from a high‐altitude Mediterranean climate.

Ideal for groups of 14 to 15 people, our spacious Ker Puigmal chalet has been specially designed to accommodate groups and families: it offers 5 large living rooms, 5 bedrooms, a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and 2 toilets, as well as a sauna, all arranged to accommodate up to two people with reduced mobility, including a room specially equipped with two single beds, which can be arranged either separated or side by side. Several old chalets dating back to 1870 were used to build the large Ker Béla chalet, named after the Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, who resided in one of them. Located near Font-Romeu, this rental is perfect for groups of 14 to 15 people: all 6 bedrooms will be available. The living room, kitchen, one double bedroom, one of the two bathrooms, and one of the toilets have been designed to accommodate a person in a wheelchair.

To build the grand Ker Cerdagne chalet, we used several former Romanian chalets made of solid wood. Located in Bolquère, near the slopes of Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000, this rental can comfortably accommodate from 12 to 14 people thanks to its 5 bedrooms. The ground floor, comprising a kitchen, a bathroom with toilet, and a bedroom with two single beds that can be pushed together, has been specially adapted for two people with reduced mobility. Its spacious partially covered terrace offers magnificent views to the south and the peaks of the French Cerdagne. In winter, the chalet is connected to the Pyrénées 2000 resort by a free shuttle passing through the street.

The municipalities where our chalets are located, Font‐Romeu, Bolquère, Saint‐Pierre‐dels‐Forcats and Targasonne, are all in French Cerdagne, in the Catalan Pyrenees Regional Natural Park. This park also includes the neighboring regions of Capcir and Conflent.

It is a very diverse territory, with high plains dotted with fabulous small lakes, deep valleys, and peaks reaching nearly 3,000 meters.

Its high‐altitude Mediterranean climate, characterized by generous sunshine, dry air, and low rainfall, makes it an ideal place for outdoor activities such as hiking or cycling, downhill skiing, or cross‐country skiing.

What characterizes a large chalet for 14 to 15 people ?

To comfortably accommodate a group of 14 to 15 people, a large chalet must have at least 2 bathrooms or showers and 2 independent toilets. Yes, all our chalets that can accommodate 14 to 15 people are PRM adapted. The living spaces, kitchen, and bathrooms have been designed taking this handicap into account. Some rentals have also made the sauna accessible.
